The best Marvel video games

The best Marvel video games

Throughout history, superheroes have had their own adventures in video game format , with greater or lesser success. In this bid, Marvel has also wanted to develop its own titles based on some of the best characters from the House of Ideas.

The first was Spiderman for the Atari 2600. From then on, an endless number of games took place taking advantage of the pull of the movies. Among all of them we have selected the ones that, for us, are the best.

The best Marvel video games

Marvel’s Spider-man (2018)

In this video game a completely new story is told that has not been seen in the panels or on the screen, but the characters are the same as in the Spider-Man comic. In it, we must put ourselves in the shoes of Peter Parker , our playable character, who stands out for already having ample experience with his red suit.

This title is, for many, the definitive Marvel video game , and one of the best in the superhero genre. It combines the story perfectly, with the gameplay and the very well-crafted characters, as well as including a wide variety of costumes and a long list of villains.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (2021)

Despite its recent release, it has already become one of the great Marvel video games. In this third-person adventure, we guide Star-Lord and his Guardians on a wild adventure through the cosmos.

The best? the impressive space battles, its well-told story, its characters with which one instantly blends in, its excellent gameplay and that humor inherited from James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

In short, a wonder that, despite everything, has not had the expected collection.

The Punisher (2005)

The popular Marvel antihero stars in this third-person shooter video game developed by Volition and released in 2005.

Following the murder of his family, Frank Castle dedicates his life to hunting down criminals. When he kills several members of the Yakuza, the police capture him and put him under interrogation.

The game has a stealth component and very dynamic combat. We can explore as we please and enjoy the presence of mythical characters such as Black Widow, Iron Man or Daredevil.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (2013)

This Marvel video game could not be missing from our list, which can be misleading, because of LEGO, but which is wonderful for lovers of the House of Ideas.

The title, an open world, offers the possibility of managing a not inconsiderable roster of characters with endless abilities, and traveling to the most emblematic destinations, such as the Oscorp Tower, Asgard and even New York City.

To all this, we must add the light-hearted humor of LEGO. The result: a perfect game to have a good time chasing and annihilating bad guys.

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (2005)

In this sequel to the video game Hulk (2003) we have Bruce Banner and Leonard Samson trying to prevent the evil side of the Hulk from emerging, a superhero with unparalleled brute force, difficult to balance in a video game, but which has been achieved here.

In this open world, Bruce Banner’s alter ego can destroy all kinds of life in his path, launch vehicles, climb walls… in short, he has a very complete gameplay.

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is more than just a good open world action game, it’s a rarity that manages to stand out from the top of the superhero genre in general.
