Comic-based video games

Comics are no longer a fad. It is not uncommon to see toys, series or movies based on them. And of course, it also touches the world of gaming. For this reason, on this occasion, we wanted to make a selection of several video games based on comics .

We have chosen quality and well-crafted titles that allow the player to get fully into the skin of the superhero and delve into a story told in vignettes. Do you want to meet them?

Have you tried these video games based on comics?

If you like vignettes, we present several video games based on comics that you cannot miss. There are options for all tastes and all of them have strengths that make them worthy of our attention.

Batman: Arkham City (2011)

Do you want to know what it feels like to enter Gotham and survive among endless bad guys to fight? Well, without a doubt, the second title in the saga of The Dark Knight will more than fulfill your wishes.

In this installment, the adventure begins when Bruce Wayne is kidnapped and taken to a prison. From there you can move around a vast map and face characters as charismatic as the Joker or the Penguin.

You will enjoy its good gameplay and you will have the possibility to also become Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing.

Alien vs. Predator (2010)

Alien vs. Predator , the multiplayer launched by Sega in 2010 will help you unravel the mystery that has been flying since 1989: which of the two horrible alien species will win? In it, you can put yourself in the shoes of a Predator, an alien or a marine, each with its own story and mechanics.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (1991)

A classic of the genre launched in the 90s by Konami, the genius of the moment creating video games based on comics. This time we enter the universe of the ninja turtles at the hands of Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo, whose mission was to face all possible bad guys.

The Walking Dead: Season One (2012)

Before the television series came to our lives, Image Comics published The Walking Dead in comic format. And it is in this world that this game was inspired, the first of the saga developed by Telltale Games . Mind you, the characters were mostly new. They were very well made, which, together with the good narrative, made the game much loved by its fans.

We especially like its strong comic book aesthetic and tricky story, although the gameplay did have some limitations.

Injustice (2013-2017)

This series of video games based on characters from DC comics and developed by NetherRealm Studios, introduce us to all the most relevant heroes and villains in fast and spectacular fights.

The plot is set in a reality where Superman is tricked by the Joker into killing Lois Lane and ending Metropolis. Thus, the superhero becomes a tyrant and establishes a new world order. On the other side we have Batman, who builds an army of insurgents to put an end to this tyrannical regime.

Marvel’s Spider-man (2018)

Although this video game is based on the spider-man comics, the story is completely new. In this open world we put ourselves in the shoes of a more experienced and mature Peter Parker, who will have to fight on the one hand with his day-to-day problems, and on the other, against the bad guys.

Its strong point is playability and excellent mobility. We can swing from building to building, or choose to take the Metro to get from one point to another.

It offers a wide space to explore, many objects to collect, it has main and secondary missions, in short, everything you would expect from a game of this type.
